Connor Cochrane
Probably won't be getting a lot of birding in, if any at all. At least I'll fill in a few more states on the eBird map https://ebird.org/tripreport/117961
Connor Cochrane
Picked up a few common "carbirding" species this evening driving to the hotel from the airport. A Barred Owl coming back from dinner was definitely the highlight.
Connor Cochrane
Wen't out this morning but it was very windy. Saw a lot of the expected southeastern birds, and got photos of a couple which I've missed pictures of in the past. Otherwise a pretty slow day, the habitat I was birding in wasn't great which certainly didn't help my cause.

I called up a birder friend of mine who's going to school in Chicago and he told me that a flock was going to be right along my route. Unfortunately my one camera battery died right after I got there, and I'll have another opportunity to photograph them next year

I visited a few more as well but didn't make ebird checklists there. I'm still a junior so not applying till this summer. Northwestern was my favorite, but getting in is going to be difficult. 4% acceptance rate this year. My SAT and grades are good enough, but who knows if they'll like my essay and extracurriculars.
Connor Cochrane
I still have to decide what my top choice is overall and where I'm going to apply ED.
