Debbie
So many bluebirds to choose from. Photographed this little bb On my northern calif ranch, this afternoon at around 2:30pm under a tree they were eating the berries near the creek.
cavan wood
Male western bluebird. Notice the blue throat with a rusty belly.
The Bird Nuts
Western Bluebird is the only bluebird with a deep orange breast that is expected in California. But the blue throat and dark belly rules out a vagrant Eastern. Edited January 2, 2019 by The Bird Nuts

Eastern Bluebird has never been recorded in California, but it is certainly on our short list for next first state record (especially with Oregon just getting their first state record).
