Applesauce
Found June 6 on Pinckney Island in South Carolina around 9 AM. It was in an open marshy pond that is a nesting area for large water birds - mostly great egrets, snowy egrets and white ibis. There is mature pine/live oak/palm tree forest and tidal marsh within a few hundred feet. I was thinking maybe an immature Common Yellowthroat? Another birder who visits the pond frequently told me he had seen a Painted Bunting earlier that day, so maybe this is a female? Thanks!
