Birds are cool
Seen yesterday at a stream in Laurens Co. Avery
It doesn't seem streaky enough for a Northern to me, but I'll wait for the better photos.

Here you'll go. Hopefully they are good enough for an ID. If not, I understand. I was shooting almost directly below me into the shadows through bushes. AlexHenry
Definitely not a Northern Waterthrush. Not sure what it is though. But no way it’s a NOWA.

It was making the exact same chips as a waterthrush. We also got some looks at it, and we were able to tell it was a waterthrush, just not sure which one, because the lighting sucked. Birds are cool
What about Red-throaged Pipit? 😝 JK Tho seriously, what about American Pipit? That was my first thought when I saw it fly by me. (And before I heard it.) @DLecy, @blackburnian?

It's a Louisiana Waterthrush. eBird has only 2 records of Northern Waterthrush for June (or July) for Georgia, and there are no June-July records in eBird for American Pipit in Georgia.

Thanks. That's what I thought, but the yellow by the face was throwing me off.

My knee jerk reaction to the first image was a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak because of the yellow wash to the upper breast. I wonder if the yellow is more of a tint caused by the greenery in front of the bird though.
