Ruslan Balagansky
Dunno if this is identifiable. Probably nothing interesting, but still curious if someone can crack it. Taken on the trail near Carmel Creek Ranch in San Diego tonight. Was late in the evening. This bird wasn't making any noise.' Ruslan Balagansky
Thank you! Yes, we also like them. We hear them all the time, but only manage to glimpse them occasionally. Was pretty happy with this shot I managed to get of one recently, though:

Glad I posted that here, otherwise who knows how long it would have been before I realized the error! Am I correct in thinking that this is a female of the Pacific sub-species due to the light eyes? Here's another shot: Since we're on the subject, would you good folks mind helping me determine whether the photo observations I previously thought were wrentits actually are? It's been a while, so I don't exactly recall the context: 1. This one I think actually is a wrentit. I think we heard it singing, which is how I knew to even look in its direction. It was quite far away: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/574551311 2. This one I'm not sure, and the angles / lack of focus don't help. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/581238161 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/581238151 https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/581238141 Thanks again!
