Applesauce
I shot this today in southern Maryland in a marshy/lake environment 500 feet from the Potomac River around 9 AM. I still struggle IDing hawks. My best guess is a Red-Tailed Hawk but across the 4 pictures, Merlin suggestions include Northern Goshawk, Red-shouldered, Red-tailed, Coopers, Broad-winged, and Rough-legged. Welcome your thoughts.
gpoole
The pale translucent crescent across the outer primaries suggests a Red-shouldered Hawk. Wait for the experts.
Peromyscus
It's an immature Red-shouldered Hawk.
