Today in Brighton Colorado. One photo I am told is a RTHA & the next photo says it’s. GOEA by Photo Sleuth.  My feeling was a Harlan’s Hawk. Distance made this even worse. The darker bird was chasing a RTHA off a utility post.

Opinion?

Yeah looks like a Red-tail to me, I think... To clear up some potential confusion- Harlan's Hawk is (currently) a subspecies of Red-tailed Hawk. This bird would be a Harlan's.

Agree with red-tailed, posibly just a first year western with that light tip on a narrowly barred tail.  It certainly isn't a GOEA when the head is the darkest part.
