Tweety
My friend is texting me photos real time while on the Big Island. The photo was taken about 9 am Saturday January 19 in which there are two birds. One is in the shadows on the right. I’m wondering if these are introduced birds or domestic hybrids? Thanks! The Bird Nuts
Welcome to Whatbird! I believe those are Crowned Cranes (Grey or Black, I think). I bet these were at a zoo. Edited January 19, 2019 by The Bird Nuts
Tweety
They are on a hotel site. So I suspect they are there for the guests? She sent me a better photo, which I’ll attach. Thanks for your help!!
IvoryBillHope
These are Gray Crowned-Cranes. Hotel might keep them on the grounds, similar to how peafowl are kept on estates, etc.
