Quijote
Hello All, This mystery bird from Caldas Province in Colombia has me stumped. I saw it in a grassy area adjacent to a coffee plantation in Caldas Province, south of Medellín. Other birds in the area included Black Phoebe, Tropical Kingbird, and possible Yellow-bellied Seedeater. I'm wondering if it's a flycatcher of some kind, though the bird's shape doesn't really make me think of flycatchers; it seems more finch-like, perhaps.... The white wingbars throw me off. Any leads? Thanks, Quijote
nickramsey
It looks like a seedeater of some kind... Not sure though
Quijote
It does have a seedeater look to it, but those wing bars throw me off. From what I've been able to see (online and books), no seedeater in that area has white wing bars. But maybe some do, and I'm just not finding the images....
