Allen1tx
This is my first post so please forgive me if I don't get this right. This guy showed up at our feeders in Austin Texas today. Thought it was strange that he would only eat from the suet feeder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Charlie Spencer
Welcome! Kinglets are insect-eaters most of the year, as are many other species. Those species rarely eat seeds. Since there are fewer insects in the winter, those species will often turn up at suet feeders (or migrate to where there are insects!). If this is your first winter with a suet feeder, watch for warblers, woodpeckers, bluebirds, and others as the winter progresses and turns to spring migration season.
