The eastern approach to Zion National Park takes you through Carmel Tunnel, 1.1 miles long, before you lose elevation and drop down to the visitor center.  This rock formation is just to the north after passing through the tunnel and is part of the mountain range that the tunnel RocksZion.thumb.jpg.caf2b8e82150a4fe195756dc43a4d8f9.jpgallows you to pass without driving up and over it.

This is a shot from my back steps looking towards the driveway side of the house this morning. For a point of reference, the squirrel baffle under the bird feeder is approximately 4 feet off the ground, about the same height as the snow drift. I haven't been bold enough to go out and see how much snow the winds have piled up around the vehicles yet. I have to get out there soon though, the temps are suppose to get above freezing this afternoon and I want to do my snowblowing while it's light fluffy snow and not wet slushy snow. And yes, I will have to make a path to my tarped shelter by shovel if I want to get to the snowblower. Yikes.

Oh My!!! When I lived in Colorado we would get this much snow once in awhile. I have to say I kind of miss it. At least the over grown kid in me does. Snow fort building, sledding, snow ball fights and of course snow men. The shoveling part not so much.
