lonestranger
Snow can be a lot of fun to play in, @Clip, unfortunately today wasn't a play day. A view from behind the vehicles. Cell phone photos before and during the snowblowing.

Nope, I haven't been part of the workforce for about 5 years now. I just wanted to get the snow cleared before it had a chance to partially melt and turn into a block of ice with the temps going above and below the freezing mark. Luckily, most of the snow drifted behind the vehicles and not so much in front of the vehicles. Also lucky that the drifts behind the house don't need to be cleared.

This actually doesn't look to bad. There are some high drifts but the rest looks like less than a foot. I remember one snowfall we had we had 4 feet of snow with the drifts even higher. I'm 5'4" and I remember barely being able to see over the snow in our drive way after opening the garage door. I think it happened in March so it was a wet heavy tree busting snow. In the mountains in Colorado this much snow is common but on the plains where we lived not so much.

It probably was a foot or less of snow over two or three days. You would think it was a lot less than that by looking at fields behind the house this morning. It was the next few days of high winds that blew the snow out of the fields and dropped it all at my back door. I definitely take care to be safe, but I've stood out on a mountain top and watched an insane thunderstorm roll up on me once or twice 😋

Bad weather can make for great photographs. That said safety always first.

smskelton
Cave Creek Canyon on the eastern edge of the Chiricahua Mountains right on the Arizona/New Mexico border. Many of the caves in the canyon have pictographs from the native cultures that lived here.

heme42
Recent nice sunrise pic over this wet weather channel in north Alabama. Is often nearly dry in summer. I've seen great egrets, great blue herons and even wood storks here.
