Mark
Was driving down the road late afternoon here in San Antonio and saw this guy. Not sure, but based on the hawks I have seen in the area, my first thought is Red Tail. But, not sure since I couldn't get a good enough pic of the full bird. The Bird Nuts
Yeah, I'd call it a Red-tailed due to the dark patagials along with the belly band (that is quite weak, but it's there). Mark
Thanks folks. I really appreciate it. Funny story with this one. I was driving saw the bird, didn't have my camera with me. Drove back home about a mile, grabbed my camera and went back out hoping it would still be there.

You'll know you're hooked when you just start leaving the camera in the car. You'll know you have a problem when you buy a camera for EACH car. Mark
True Charlie, true. I haven't hit the point of leaving the camera in the car - I have to leave it at home so my wife can use it watching the feeders. Hmmm,,,sounds like a good excuse to buy another camera ? Charlie Spencer
Knock a hole in the roof for the turret-mounted spotting scope and coaxially slaved camera.
Mark
Hmmm. I already have a sun roof - just need to work out the hardware and mechanics. I don't think my wife would mind - maybe.
