Just keep in mind that there's a lot of individual variation in basically every species of bird. Not every individual of a species that is "supposed to have an eyering" necessarily shows that trait as perfectly as you might find in a field guide. Nothing is off for Pine Warbler for this bird, and also certain features can be obscured because he's bathing. It appears to be a young or molting male.
