millipede
Not sure how or why I didn't add this to the birds I was getting an ID on for the same date and location just the other day. Bird seen 8/15/14 in NW Arkansas. Had least sandpipers, spotted, and solitary... This one, between the distance/angle and the lighting, it just makes things difficult on me... but the bill looks interesting... looks too long to be least, though the legs look yellowish... the bill looks too curved to be the spotted or solitary I also saw... Is the bill the shorter than it looks? the legs a different color than shows? or??? doesn't seem to fit anything I just looked at. size is too difficult to judge on that rock... akiley
Least. Their bills are generally downcurved.
millipede
I think, perhaps, the position of the head made me see a longer bill than is actually there... the angle plus the shadowing on the face maybe.
