Nancy
Hi there - at first I thought this was a mockingbird and now I'm not so sure because it's eyes look different than the ones I see online and it doesn't seem to have enough white stripes on its wings. Can anyone confirm this bird in Charlotte, NC? https://ibb.co/dwf3Myhttps://ibb.co/iM8q1yhttps://ibb.co/fSu8od

Charlie Spencer
Yep, Northern Mockingbird. Looks like you have a Downy Woodpecker too!

psweet
The white wingbars are at the tips of the covert feathers. By this time of the year, when they're almost ready to start molting again, those feather tips have worn off, leaving nothing but gray behind. Nancy
Thanks psweet. I knew it looked different than when I saw it earlier and that's why I was wondering if it was a mockingbird. Very helpful!
