Looking at pictures from 4/11/19 in NW Arkansas and have a hawk that doesn't appear on my list. I wonder if I didn't write it down or simply made a mistake. Anyway, it looks like a broad winged to me... BIG tail bands and obvious buteo shape. I don't believe I see the transparent crescents you'd see on a RSHA but the lighting is bad.
Thoughts?

 

side note... NO photos but here in Siloam Springs Arkansas(outside city limits) I had a Great Kiskadee today. Briefly landed on a tree top... brown back, yellow breast, black and white head... and, it vocalized before it flew off. Just one call. My daughter was next to me and didn't see it but she heard the call and when I looked it up on Merlin and played the call... that was it. Crazy... There really is no other place in the forum to discuss that but felt the need to say it somewhere. :)
