Ves
These were heard May 15 in south-central Kansas in a thick mixed forest habitat with a stream that runs through. I believe both are probably warblers, though I could be wrong. Thank you in advance for any help! 1. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/159193211 for the very high pitched bird that sings loudly throughout most of the recordings (there are two that were merged into one). I could not spot the bird, it was staying in thick leaves up in the trees, there seemed to be another singing a little further away but this one sounded close to me. It sounded high up. The trees in this area were pretty tall and thick, and it was right by a stream, pretty deep into the forest. 2. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/159192991 This one sounded very close and pretty loud as well, but I could not spot him either no matter how hard I tried! He did not stay around long, and also sounded perhaps high up. The trees in this area were not as tall, and it was closer to the edge of the forest, and I only heard one. Let me know if I can provide any other details or if the links do not work. Thank you again for the help. I tried comparing these songs to warbler species on audubon but could not quite find a match, or perhaps didn't look at the right species?
