Also, maybe list any listserve that a state has that deals with birds. Sometimes people who don't use eBird will post their rare sightings there. That's how I got my lifer Red-headed Woodpecker yesterday!

OK, sounds good. So people can volunteer to help and post ideas here in the meantime? I'd be happy to help, especially with writing/editing, since I'm not that familiar with resources in the ABA area.

It was a first winter bird, so didn’t have the full red head yet, but still awesome nonetheless!
