Taylorjane
This bird was seen today in southwest Montana. It was far up in the tree, but the white belly in the sun gave it away for me. It looked to be bigger than robin size, but not sure because of the distance. Any help with an ID would be greatly appreciated!! You all are the best! Charlie Spencer
I've never seen one but this matches the appearance of a adult Lark Sparrow on AAB. Unstreaked breast, rufous and black facial markings, pale beak, white throat. Range is good too. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Lark_Sparrow/ I'm pretty sure but let's wait for confirmation from someone familiar with the species. Taylorjane
Wow, Thank you Charlie....the markings are spot on for a Lark Sparrow but I'll wait for confirmation. I've never seen one either!
