The first is a house sparrow and the second looks like a curve-billed thrasher but I have only seen the California, Crissal and brown thrashers myself. It may be a little too far North for the curve-billed. LaConte's is the other that looks like this one but I think it is more to the South. Will wait for the more experienced birders to weigh in.

It's not too far north for Curve-billed, the northern limit of their range is Southern Colorado. The Le Conte's range is limited to CA, AZ and NV in the U.S.

I'm in NW New Mexico.  I have a new bird to hunt.  Didn't even know they were a possibility. ❤️

range for the curve billed thrasher - according to sightings map of allaboutbirds - Cornell University is extreme southern and eastern Colorado - so could be.  The LaContes has blacker eye.  and Crissal is not as brown and seems to have a more curved beak.. According to allaboutbirds...the man who first named this one - curve billed - had not see the others with more curved bills

I would vote for Curve Billed but as above..maybe someone more expert should make final decision

oh yes agree totally with house sparrow the grey cap and almost black bib are telltale for me
