Gull

[Jabird]

Hi,

Need some help with this gull that was hanging out with other herring gulls and ring-billed gulls.  The dark smudge behind the eye has me curious.  This was August 9 in Brantford, Ontario, Grand River.

are they all of the same Gull? 1 looks different than 2 & 3

I think they are the same gull, just that the first one is in the sun, while the other two are in the shade. Ring-Billed Gull would be my guess, but the dark legs and black spot on neck are throwing me off. if not that, than this may be a rare gull.

Hmmmm... interesting bird. Not totally sure what this is. I suppose RB is my guess as well.

These pics are all of the same bird.  Thanks for the input so far!  Ring-billed would have been my guess but I'm not seeing a distinct mark on the end of the bill unless it was the lighting.

the lighting is making the "Ring" more difficult to see, but if you look closely, there is a faint ring, most present in pic 3.
