akandula Posted August 27, 2019 Share Posted August 27, 2019 (edited) Yes, this looks like an immature Cooper’s Hawk. Note the upright posture, hooked small bill, barred tail, and long tail. While adults have gray upperparts, a black cap, gray nape, red eye, pale, reddish-streaked underparts, immatures have brown upperparts, white, heavily streaked underparts, and a yellow eye. Immature Sharp-shinned Hawks differ from immature Cooper’s by their stockier build, thinner legs, and broad, blurry streaking.
