akandula
Welcome to Whatbird! This is a Short-toed Snake-Eagle (Circaetus gallicus). Note the large size, long, and very broad wings, shortish tail, and big head. The pale belly and underwings contrast with the dark head of adults (juveniles have pale heads). On perched birds, note the owl-like face and unfeathered legs. This bird-of-prey hunts over open areas, spending lots of time hovering with rowing wingbeats into the wind. fabrixio
mr. akandula perfect description. This is the confirmation I was looking for. In Italy we call it BIANCONE. I thank you for your kindness and great competence. Have a nice Sund
fabrixio
if I can take advantage of your kindness, confirm me if this is a Falco biarmicus ? Edited September 8, 2019 by fabrixio
akandula
I actually would call this a Eurasian Hobby (Lodolaio) (Falco subbuteo). Note the gray upperparts with plain tail and boldly streaked underparts with rusty leggings and vent. I would think that Lanner Falcons (Falco biarmicus) would be stockier and lack the rufous vent.
