RobinHood 1,309
Southern Ontario today - last one. Deep in the shadows and just a glance before it was gone. I see an eye ring - thrush possibly, but not much detail. Thanks.
akiley 1,152
Indeed a thrush, that's a backlit American Robin.
Melierax 1,033
Is this very southern Ontario? It looks like a Yellow-breasted Chat to me.

I was thinking that at first, but not only the posture but the extensive eye ring and what looks like a mask just doesn't fit for me. EDIT: Actually, the bill looks better for Robin. I'm still not 100% sure though. Edited September 21, 2019 by Melierax
Melierax 1,033
Okay actually, yeah, I think Robin fits. It just threw me off.

RobinHood 1,309
Thanks everyone, a little embarrassing. I thought this might be a test of your Thrush skills - I guess it was. There were Robins everywhere today (and Jays and Cardinals) but this one looked more promising. Foiled again but OTOH very happy with my Tennessee Warbler. Likes to everyone for the speedy response.
