Charlie Spencer
Francis Beidler Sanctuary, southern South Carolina; Friday, Sept. 27th. Cypress - Tupelo swamp environment. Bird was relatively active, flitting from branch to branch about 10-15 feet above the ground. Least is the other primary suspect in this area but they aren't expected in swamps. egosnell2002
Yellow-bellied.
akiley
Agreed. No throat contrast and the primaries don't look super long.
Charlie Spencer
Does this make any difference? I'm certainly not qualified to second-guess on this one, but a Yellow-Bellied would be quite significant. eBird shows only a couple of dozen within 50 miles of Beidler in the last ten years, none within the preserve itself. blackburnian
Looks good for Yellow-bellied. They're pretty sporadic migrators through the Carolinas, so it's certainly not out of the question for one to be there. A good bird for sure though. Charlie Spencer
Two months later and I haven't heard back from eBird, yea or nae. It doesn't show up on the sightings map so I assume it hasn't been accepted.

Charlie Spencer
If anyone still thinks this is Yellow-bellied, would you please explain why and how you separated it from Acadian? Thanks. Edited September 20, 2021 by Charlie Spencer
Hasan
This looks perfectly fine for Acadian 3
Charlie Spencer
@blackburnian, I think you're the only one of the original responders who is still active. Do you see anything now that you didn't see earlier? Thanks.
Hasan
What appears to be a significant bill, head shape, and thinner eyering are all inconsistent with Yellow-bellied
