cobal, October 2, 2019 in Help Me Identify a North American Bird
Not sure about the first photo.
2 looks like a western sandpiper to me
3 black-bellied plover
Any thoughts on #1?
Any other opinions on #2? Western would be a new Ohio bird for me and I would like to make sure. Thanks
I'm seeing Semis in one. 2 is Western for sure. Note the strongly downcurved bill and rufous scapulars.
I agree with one and two, but why is three not an American Golden Plover? I can see some yellow wash to the crown, the eyebrow is relatively prominent, and the bill does not appear as thick as I would expect on a Black-bellied.
I would agree with Golden on 3, due to bill size, overall color, and tail projection.
I know this is an old post...BUMP!
