Photographed this duck in NW Ontario this fall. Early morning and mist rising from the lake and the duck was some distance from me-- so its detail is not great, however, I really would like to know which duck it is. This is the first time I've seen this kind of duck on this lake.

This is a Common Goldeneye (immature maleĀ I believe). Note the strongly peaked head, overall shape, and relatively large but short bill.
