Speculum feathers are reflective, like the feathers on a Mallard's head or the throat of a hummingbird.  The color will vary somewhat based on the angle of the light reflected to the birder.

They have pale blue wing coverts and green speculums.

The terrible photo I took recently shows this, what appears white is actually the pale blue.
