Here’s another bird I can’t figure out, my bird app says it’s a Norther Flicker.  As you can see by the picture the bird has some orange, black and gray in it.

I cleaned the photos up the best I could using Photoshop.

Location: Atascadero, CA

Where: Sitting high in a tree

Date: 8/10/2019

I hope someone can help me out with this one.

Yep, Northern Flicker.  They can come with either red or yellow visible on the underside of the wings.  The top photo show part of the distinctive black crescent on the chest. The large speckles on the chest and belly are also good clues.
