Could you circle it? I’m in no way sure what birds you are referring to 😅In any case it’s likely a scaup

Thanks! The birds in the background are a mix of Tricolored and Red-winged Blackbirds. Definitely not pumice from a volcano, although that would be quite the shot! 😂
