Vickie Carla
I recently adjusted the tension of my squirrel buster feeder to allow larger/heavier birds. I live in central Florida, Gulf Coast side. This guy showed up here today on a stormy, rainy day. First time to see him/her and can't figure out who he is .
JamesM
Looks like a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Vickie Carla
I agree! I thought it wasn't in this area but just found that it's a "rare, migrant who passes through Florida on the way down south".
Charlie Spencer
Seconded, and definitely migrating through. The size, facial pattern, and a bill thicker than other feeder birds are good marks. NIce bird for the location and time of year.
Vickie Carla
I just learned on a Florida Birding page on FB that there have been a lot of RBG sightings recently. I got this today of her picking a fight with a cardinal. Edited October 23, 2019 by Vickie Carla add photo
Tony Leukering
The fairly strong suggestion of pink on the breast should indicate male, right?
