gpoole
Not sure if this is the same bird. That's a black duck in the background for size comparison. Taken on Nova Scotia seashore this morning. Thanks for the help in advance.
Melierax
This is a Laughing Gull. Range maps don't show it reaching that far north so it might be a good idea to put this one on eBird. https://ebird.org/map/laugul?neg=true&env.minX=&env.minY=&env.maxX=&env.maxY=&zh=false&gp=false&ev=Z&mr=1-12&bmo=1&emo=12&yr=all&byr=1900&eyr=2019
gpoole
Thanks Melierax. I should have gotten this one. We had numerous Laughing Gulls arrive here with Hurricane Dorian. How quick we forget.
egosnell2002
Agreed with Laughing. I actually flew to Nova Scotia for the weekend Dorian hit just to bird the hurricane, over 3 days I ended up eBirding exactly 1001 Laughers. Pretty amazing and terrible birding at the same time, watched a Bridled Tern fall out of the eye of the storm, and drown right in front of me... 1
