Red-breasted Merganser?

Recommended Posts

At a city park pond, North Central Arkansas, Nov. 13, 2019.  Sleuth says "Red-breasted Merganser 63%, Hooded Merganser 25%, Common Merganser 11%". We have had Hooded Mergansers in the area for the last two winters. If this is Red-breasted, it is a lifer for me, so I wanted to be sure.

Wait for confirmation but the bill looks too short for a Red-Breasted to me.  Female Hooded; sorry.

Hoodeds haven't shown up here yet.  They're one of my favorite migrants.

EDIT: eBird does show Red-Breasteds sighted near Norfolk Lake and Heber Springs earlier this month, so maybe?  Definitely wait for other opinions
