Request input - Little bird on New York City sidewalk

Recommended Posts

I noticed this bird on November 14th hopping around the wheels of parks cars and the sidewalk edge in Manhattan (NYC), a few blocks from Central Park. It was the size of a sparrow and hopped like one. It had a black beak slightly thinner than a sparrow’s and was mainly a drab brown with olive tone color, off-white underneath edged with accents of a very pale yellow, and a stronger yellowish color at the throat. Black mask-like marking on the face. It was solo - not with any others. Any input appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to Whatbird!

I think that is a Common Yellowthroat.
