Gail
Hi, I'm very beginner birder. Did try to find these and ID them, but would like help. Spotted today Aug 8 in Boulder Colorado at 7000 feet. Any help much appreciated. Gail

Gail
Thank you both. I found one picture on the internet of a yellow-rumped Warbler that looked like this. What makes it hard to ID this is there is no yellow (at least showing.) But I'm learning!!
psweet
The warbler looks like he's very young, which explains both his very fresh wing feathers (smooth, crisp edges with no evidence of wear) and his very fluffy body plumage. Typically, when you see a bird like this, if you watch him for a few minutes you'll see his parents come in to check on him.
Gail
Thanks. You're right. He then joined a group of about six of these birds.
