belliott 1 Posted Tuesday at 12:08 AM These birds were apparently eating grit in a graveled road in SW Missouri in October. My best guess is Red-winged Blackbird, but I am pretty sure that is wrong. akandula 660 Posted Tuesday at 12:26 AM These are Pine Siskins. Note heavily streaked, brown overall, the small amount of yellow on the wings and the tail, and the sharp, pointed bill. Red-winged Blackbirds are noticeably larger and lack the yellow on the wings.
