Usha
Taken today in SCOTTSDALE, Maricopa County, Arizona. Is this a Muscovy and mallard hybrid? Hanging out with mallards. TY
AlexHenry
The warty red stuff around the base of the bill and the greenish gloss on the black back suggests some domestic Muscovy influence but other features suggest domestic Mallard so I'd say yes.

Pigeon
Why isn’t that just a young Muscovy? I’ve seen quite a few in domestic flocks that look very similar.
AlexHenry
Overall body shape and shape of the head and bill are reminiscent of domestic Mallard to me, but I don't pay much attention to domestic ducks, so I could definitely be wrong. Tony Leukering
I agree with Pigeon -- it looks like a juv Muscovy
