Trevor L.
Well, to follow that up with a less cool bird, there was a Varied Thrush found in my hometown, and I had time after school, so I went to check it out. Pretty cool. It was also my 500th lifer.

Birding Boy
6th self found Cismontanus type Junco of the fall in my county. There were 3 previously accepted records all time in the county. Probably not all that rare, just overlooked/dismissed. https://ebird.org/checklist/S99115339 Edited December 21, 2021 by Birding Boy

I read on one of the NJ groups today that there was a single sighting. Not sure where their info came from so can't vouch for it but sounds like it might be on the move again.

It's been visiting someone's backyard feeders regularly for a while, so I went and it showed up after a minute or so, and also called a couple times. The owner of the moose was also really nice so kudos to him. It was my first time "chasing" a rarity (I didn't really chase it, I just stood there and it showed up). Definitely a great first chase bird. Wow, it must be quite a lot of effort to keep a moose in captivity. Kudos to him ?

This bird seemed pretty cooperative judging by the photos.

Trevor L.
Not SUPER rare, but the day before I left for Mexico, I found an Oregon Junco at my house. I was worried it wouldn't get accepted, but the reviewer agreed with the ID.
