(Someone saw them the next day making the 7th record.) For what it’s worth, if the person saw the exact same birds the following day, that wouldn’t be an additional county record.

Also, in general, records are counted by the number of birds. IF all the prior were single birds, then you would have the 6th through 13th county records. However, since Whistling-Ducks are often in flocks like yours, I suspect there have been more than 5 prior county records.

Aaron
Found a Sage Thrasher this May by Shuswap Lake BC, usually they aren’t seen above Kelowna. According to eBird, this was the 4th recorded sighting for the county. Then at the same location (in my yard actually!) just a few weeks ago, I found a Band-tailed Pigeon which is rare for the location, but not as rare as the Thrasher. Last time they were seen around there was 2015. Though someone did find 2 more a couple of Kilometres away the next day!

Birding Boy
Today several others and I chased Lark Sparrow, Summer Tanager, Yellow-Throated Warbler, and a Red-Throated Loon, all of which are quite unusual at this time of year for Southern Michigan. Also found a Lesser Scaup, Ruddy Duck, and a pair of Parulas, all of which ebird flagged. Didn't get any photos of the warbs unfortunately.

Connor Cochrane
While not flagged on eBird since they breed at lower elevation, rare (or really under reported) in the mountains.
