From a few days ago.

Lifer Rose-breasted Grosbeak(Not self found)

1800

County bird Mountain Bluebird! There were 2 females and one male that we saw. There are up to 11 at the location, but it was a quick stop right before sunset and we didn’t really leave the parking lot.

I chased my lifer, and Michigan's 15th (?) state record Slaty-backed Gull today! I got there just in time. I saw it for maybe 30 seconds before the entire flock flushed, and the Slaty never returned. Interestingly, this hotspot has two previous SBAG records. https://ebird.org/checklist/S124719081

Nice! That is interesting.

I went with my church youth group to an adventure park in the 28 and 29th. Last year I saw a Mute Swan and a Snowy Egret. Both were rare. This year we got to the park at 1, and a I did not see either of them. 8 brought my phone in the first day to take a crappy confirmation photo, and then I saw them on the second day when I didn't bring my phone.

I had two Canada Geese yesterday in a random pond on the side of the road in Palm Beach County, Florida. Apparently these are rare here, but I didn’t know that so no photo. I’ll drive by again hoping they’re still they’re. It’s just so weird having to write a description for one of the most common birds back in my county in California! And bizarre going out specifically to look for them!

Grasshopper Sparrow. They are not rare, but they are harder to find than some rare sparrows! I saw it, ran in the house, got my father, and we were able to refind it, and get him the lifer!

Great shots! Missed it when I was there, saw Dovekie & Razorbill though. The Pacific Loon would have been nice too.
