Great shots! Missed it when I was there, saw Dovekie & Razorbill though. The Pacific Loon would have been nice too.

Your lucky. You have a well birded county, and lots of people are able to bird more of the county and see rare birds. In Laurens County there is one other birder besides me, and he birds one spot, so if there is a rarity in Lauren's, it is usually self found, and my lists suffer because of that.

The unfortunate thing about my county is that pretty much everybody is a “twitcher” or goes from one rarity to the next. There’s not many new rarities found in my county other than rarities found at locations that already have one. I wish more people in my county birded less often checked spots so there would be more rarities…

I often find myself “twitching”, however, but that’s because I’m young, have school,  sports, etc, and don’t much time to bird, hence I often go after the better birds(another reason why I don’t find my own rarities often).

@Quiscalus quiscula, this isn't to far away from you is it? Some decent birds, and a rare Canvasback!

Looks awesome! I'll see if I can work on my parents to get me to go...it's a 30 min drive.

Also not sure where exactly people have been seeing the birds from as the parking lot near by doesn't seem to be open for regular vehicles.

A different group of Canvasbacks have also been seen here. Hope you can get em!

White-tailed Hawk

20 Jan 2023 Baldwin co. AL.  Bay/gulf-side historic fort & park

This fellow has been hanging around at least a week.  A first sighting for the state.  Pictures are not great, as they were taken from the car at too far a distance.

I triggered the rare bird alerts last night with Rock Pigeons in Macon, GA. LOL

Is that because you used "Rock Pigeon" in eBird? If so, please use Rock Pigeon (Feral Pigeon). On behalf of reviewers everywhere, thank you!
