Chased one at the same location last month, but didn't find it.

I also get Olive-sided Flycatchers and various other migrants because of the creek.

Birds are cool
Red-tailed Hawk. I have talked to multiple different people, and everybody has said that it's not a borealis, and that it's either abieticola or calurus. Either way it's a second state record for the subspecies!

Birds are cool
Self-found rarity! Second individual seen in Georgia this year! (the first was at a feeder during the winter.) My father and I both got great looks at it. I couldn't get good photos because it was behind another tree. Nice to see a breeding male this early in the year. TMI? Birds are cool
I just saw the second county record of a Tricolored Heron in Laurens County! I wasn't birding at the time, so I had to rush inside to get my camera, but the photos should be diagnostic. Here is the checklist. Third self-found rarity this week! https://ebird.org/checklist/S132256257?view=photos

chipperatl
Get check off American White Pelican as "self-found" now with these 12. Prior to this there were only 2 other county records. Luckily 3 other birders were able to get on them before they disappeared.
