Lucky you!! NorCal vagrant wise has been SO insane this year, and SoCal has been literally horrible! Even the migrant numbers were down this year a ton!! I’ve only had 3 Nashville Warblers this year, for comparison last year I had 18, and the year before I had 16 at this point., and

Sulpher-bellied Flycatcher, Magnificent Frigatebird, Crested Caracara...Southern California is heating up fast!

And I couldn’t chase any of them!! And I won’t be able to this week!! SO AGGRAVATING. The traffic down to San Diego is brutal right now-and the flycatcher may not stick until tomorrow-it also is a very hard bird to get. My sister has a softball tournament this week and weekend up in Lancaster (Thursday-sunday) so I will finally get to see the bean goose. At least it’s hearing up. I got a continuing REVI yesterday at least-county bird for me.

The Bean-Goose is a solid consolation prize!

Yep! It can’t leave-the thing can’t even fly pretty much. My only fear is that it’ll survive the heat of the summer-the fact that it can’t fly much doesn’t seem like it’s bothered by it, it hangs out with many other geese and ducks and takes food out of people’s hands!

Same bird that @DLecy posted a few days ago. Didn't think I was going to see this one, as previous coastal records of RHWO in California have never stuck for more than a day, but this bird stayed long enough for me to get back home from Montana. First time I've seen this species since 2011!

I also saw the Red-headed Woodpecker that @DLecy and @Connor Cochrane posted above. I'm really happy it stayed until I could get to it. Such an amazing bird! RHWO was not on my list of likely species I would get in California anytime soon!

Not sure I’ve seen better shots of the WWTE posted yet.  Awesome.

Thanks!! I still can’t believe I saw that bird - what a beauty. Too bad he spends all of his time a quarter mile out; only came close once for these photos!

I think I caused my reviewer to reset some parameters.  Had 4 birds flag as rare on eBird app today.  3 were early/later in Acadian Flycatcher, Willow Flycatcher and Red-shouldered Hawk.  None of these now show in RBA.

This one is still on there.  Baird's Sandpiper.
