Poor photos but does anyone want to go out on a limb and confirm this is a Ruby-crowned Kinglet?

Grants Pass or.

Out on a limb and can confirm that this is a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet.  Bill looks too thin to be a Hutton's Vireo.

Good job getting decent photos, those lil' guys are like ping-pong balls with wings! 😜

Thanks

And yes they are hard to photograph.

Nah, RCKI are easy to photograph!  Under the right circumstances, they'll sit still while you walk within 7 or 8 feet.

1. Put out suet.

2. Set the temperature for 20 degrees

3. Add 8" of snow...

Beautiful shot Charlie

You're right. The best shot I got of one was on a Jan 1st day in Beaverton Or.

Freezing cold with snow on the ground. He just sat on the tree like he was thinking about what to do.

I agree with Charlie on this one - I find many of the warblers are much, much more difficult. Kinglets are one of my favourite birds and will usually come really close.

This is a shot that I like, just for @birdgurl. A Kinglet with major attitude.

And this kinglet is obviously a male.

Robinhood

I like that. Sometimes when I'm chasing them around I feel like they are just laughing at me.

Saying "You silly woman, don't you know we're faster than you"

1: Can do!

2: It gets down that cold a few times a year.

3: It didn't snow last year at all. And I have not seen any sign of snow this year... Will a eighth of an inch do?
