AlexHenry
So it appears there are a few subspecies of White-crowned Sparrows in my area, but I have never learned them. I was hoping someone could help me out with these. The location is Alameda County California, close to SF Bay. With the orangish/pinkish bill, I believe this is Gambel's? Yellow-billed? Puget Sound? Nuttall's?
sfinmt
I think your oranger-billed photo may be Z.l. gambelii, unless it's a yellow bill stained orange by fruit? The yellower-billed photos appear to be Z.l.nuttalli.
