We have two pictures of a hawk in Central Virginia taken this month (August, 2018). The hawk landed in a mostly dead pine tree, about 12 feet high overlooking a small water hole (where we've seen hawks land before, so we have a trail camera aimed at the spot). This is in the midst of a few hundred acres of woods behind rural housing. The hawk was on these perches for about 20 minutes. Thank you for your help to identify what type of hawk this is!
