Crow with brown feathers

Recommended Posts

I saw this crow in late January in Everglades National Park.  I've never seen a crow with brown in the feathers.  Is this just a routine pigment variation?   Thanks for any information!

I think they're just old, worn feathers. When it molts, they'll be replaced by glossy black feathers.

It doesn't seem to be any pigmentation issue, and the dark irises support the fact that this is not a very young individual...
