This is a female Red-winged Blackbird. By September (usually), immature males look like immature males, with dark-spotted orange median coverts and dark-spotted reddish lesser coverts. They're generally blacker than this bird, but not always as black as this one. The complete lack of some orangey-yellow color on the median coverts on this bird rules out any age of male.
