#256 - Buff-breasted Sandpiper

This is the 4th or 5th lifer shorebird this year, and all about 45 minutes from my house in VT! I never expected the variety of shorebirds that show up on Lake Champlain.

Lifer Canada warbler....very hard to photograph as it was in thickets most of the time. Rare for AZ

Don't you just hate when that happens??!!?? I saw my first (and so far ONLY!!) Black-bellied Whistling Duck in Fla a couple of years ago, and it was the one day I didn't take my camera out with me!! 😠 😭

Bay-breasted Warbler at Laguna Lake, San Luis Obispo and a COMMON RINGED PLOVER/RINGED PLOVER! at Morro Strand State Beach, Morro Bay, CA today. For the Plover it was like the big year all over again😀

I remember the Common ringed plover from two years ago. 200 people showed up that day, and I was the only one who saw it. Hopefully you got there before the crowds.

Yeah, we woke up at 4 and got out there at 6. It was a 9 mile hike to see it, and we were only the seconds ones to see it! All of the other birders had to wait till a gate opened at 8, but we took a short cut!

Congrats!! I got my lifer Brown Thrasher about 60, maybe 65, or so years ago.........er....never mind......😒
